Megan: I'm a student from Intermedia One and we were asked to give some constructive criticism and awesome comments about your show. I think the first picture you show here really makes the shape you chose as a whole works super well. The photos all seem to mesh and work well with each other and the overall shape is extremely present here with the white wall. The shape that all the photos form is a work of art in itself, so really you have all sorts of ‘mini-works’ that make up a ‘large-work’ (if that makes sense at all). The bright colors present in some of you photos really stand out and give more attention to the photos you chose to shoot in black and white. The interactive idea is absolutely wonderful, being able to actually flip the photos made me want to look at them more. One thing i feel you may want to re-think is the hand written note cards. What if you were to leave it out and let people explore your work without a sense of direction? What if you were to hide them under one of the photos? what reactions would that create? Maybe just something to think about. I totally dig your work, keep it up.
Intermedia is a broad term that encompasses contemporary art practices where media, content, meaning, site and the role of the artist are fluid and inseparable. The goal of Intermedia is to create works, experiences, sites and situations that are trans or cross disciplinary, experimental and imaginative, meaningful and socially responsible.Intermedia II will build on the content, theory and investigations of Intermedia I, allowing for further individual and collaborative experimentation, production and creative research.
