The talk of no authorship and mashups of already created sound/video today reminded me of Girl Talk, the stage name of Gregg Gillis, mashup extraordinaire. (or I just finally found a legit reason to bring him up.. heh..) He mixes a bunch of samples together to create upbeat dance music, and turns his concerts into a big party. He was in IC last year at the Picador I think it was, but I didn't know much about him then. And then I missed the show in DSM recently which was at a 1000 person occupancy venue and it sold out, so he's grown in popularity quickly!

And if you have even more time to spare check out their video journal of the tour. There's something like 30 posted on youtube and it shows some behind the scene tour stuff, and how all the elements come together to entertain the crowd.. just search "girl talk tour."
Sorry Brendan, I know the point of your project was to go the opposite way of digital technology, but I loved that yours was like a physical incarnation of what he does on the computer. great stuff.
